Public Transport System

The public transport system in Munich and Garching is operated by MVV.

You can reach us easily by metro and bus (see here for more details). Furthermore, moving around in Munich and Garching and its surroundings is very convenient by public transportation. Choosing the correct ticket can be challenging, though. Therefore, we provide a brief overview of the tickets you will likely use most often:

Stripe Ticket with 10 individual stripes 17.00€
single ticket for zone M-2 7.70€
single day ticket for zone M-2 11.50€ (i.e. from Munich City to G. Forschungszentrum and back)

Lufthansa Airport Bus (one-way 11.50€; Return ticket 18.50€)

Lufthansa Airport Bus connects Munich main station with Munich North (U-Bahn station Nordfriedhof) and Munich Airport.

Here you can find a schedule of the Lufthansa Airport Bus departure times. Travel time from Munich Center - approx. 40 minutes, from Munich North - approx. 25 minutes.
